Eduardo Maciel We are delighted to welcome Eduardo who has recently joined our Auckland office.
Eduardo is originally from Mexico where he worked for one of the largest Fire Engineering Consulting companies in Latin America. In 2010 he moved to Europe where he studied for the International Master of Science in Fire Safety Engineering (IMFSE) at Ghent (Belgium), Lund University (Sweden) and University of Edinburgh (UK). An experienced design engineer and project manager Eduardo is a great addition to our team.

Now Open From our base here in little old Te Awamutu we work with great clients from the top of the North to the deep South.
With our existing work on major projects in the Auckland region we felt it was about time to take the plunge and open an Auckland office.
We are now pleased to confirm that our new Auckland office is now open.

For She's a jolly good fellow! On Friday 15th March, 2013 at The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) Fellows and Achievers Dinner in Wellington, Debbie Scott, our principal fire engineer was awarded her Fellowship of IPENZ. The team at Onfire Consulting are very proud of Debbie and congratulate her on this significant achievement.
Fellows are Members who have made a substantial contribution to the development of the engineering profession, its practices or IPENZ itself. Fellows therefore represent the most experienced part of the Membership, and thus users of engineering services can expect the same fully professional service that they obtain from Professional Members, but with the knowledge that a Fellow is sometimes more experienced and/or knowledgeable than a Professional Member.

The full FIPENZ citation reads:

"Debbie Scott is elected a Fellow of IPENZ for her contribution to the advancement of engineering practice and to the development of the Institution. We recognise her contribution to development and promulgation of codes of practice and guidance material in fire design engineering and her roles in governance of the Institution and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. She has strongly supported a blameless reporting approach so mistakes and near misses can be learnt from, demonstrating personally the openness that allows such an approach to succeed. Her forthright approach has been well-respected and influential in her various roles within the Institution and society."
